I wanted to blog about Appreciation CG that was held yesterday afternoon.. but I am really VERY tired now. Supposed to reach Harbourfront at 7.45am tomorrow morning for my Batam trip. I'll blog when I'm back! Forgive me k!

Happy New Year!!! 2008 is gonna be the best year yet! All the best~!

Christmas had come and Christmas had gone.. woOoOohooOo.. A few more days and we'll march into the year 2008. For some reasons, I can't wait for the new year to come.. To me, it means that everything has come to an end and I can start afresh again. Hopefully there's really a closure in my heart too..

Anyway, this year, "Christmas started early for me" (As commented by Jaslin when I told her results). My results was the 1st gift that I had received. Then it happened that I had a terrible experience for the 1st Christmas service. I shall not mention what happened, but it made me realised that support from the cg members is very important. And it was then that I appreciate that I used to be in youth cg whereby it's so easy to communicate. I felt lousy the whole day until I opened the card that Yaqi gave to me and found my 2nd gift. She had blessed me with $50.

Dear Yaqi, if you are reading this entry, I want you to know that I am indeed very touched by your gesture. This blessing came in time to remind me that no matter what happened, how sad I am, I am still blessed by the Lord, not just in material blessing but more so in friendship. It had warmed my heart that day when I felt so "cold" and discouraged. Thanks a lot!

My 3rd gift was from Yingjie. It's a very cool zip-it bag.. I haven't decided if I should use it like a pencil case or put other stuff. Thanks Yingjie!

My 4th gift was from my shifu, Merf. He gave me a make up TOY!!! Haha.. Plus Starbucks voucher. I can have my favorite Vanilla ice blended soon. Thanks shifu!

In the midst of Christmas, we celebrated Jason's bday! Here's our Tiger Jason Yap.. His aspiration is to play golf as well as Tiger Woods!
Photobucket

With Jason around, we'll always find some time to take group photo.. which I liked a lot. Here's part of my CG with some new friends with us...
Photobucket

And this year I attended 4 Christmas services and realised I really aged a lot. I used to attend all services, but this time round, after my 3rd service, I almost fell sick. Thank God I didn't. For the finale service, I took a picture of Yanping, Yingfang and Eunice during the candlelight session. It's a blur picture.. nevertheless, it's the only one that we took during the service.. So here it goes!
Photobucket

I wanna thank all my friends who came to join us for the Christmas service. I really hope you've enjoyed yourself.

Up next, on the 26th of Dec, my brother's officially married!! Here's our relatives who were invited and turned up at the Registry of Marriage.
Photobucket

Me, my da sao and my bro.
Photobucket

And here's my most satisfied piece of work.. Captured at the right moment, the right time, the right angle.
Photobucket

Following a thank you dinner hosted by my bro, I was given my 5th gift, an ang bao. I wonder why? They got married and they gave me ang bao. Shouldn't I be the one to give them?? Hmmm... Anyway, I was thankful of course!

Yesterday morning, my grandma came and she gave me a HUGE ang bao too.. She must have noticed my financial difficulties because I just borrowed $500 from her and intended to keep borrowing from her until I graduate. I feel so touched. But I really don't dare to anyhow use this money because I don't think that I should.. She hasn't been feeling well lately and we just sent her to Alexandra Hospital (strongly recommended by me). Her blood pressure is super high despite taking medicine and she kept feeling giddy. I hope she'll be well and discharge soon. Please pray for her if you can. Thanks!

I'd been kissed!!!

I'D BEEN KISSED!!!

It's been a long while since I last received kisses.. It was a surprised "attack" from him! And he kissed me MANY TIMES!! Here's his picture!

Photobucket

Haha! Ultra cute right?? He's my adorable nephew, Matthew! And it's hard to take pictures with him too..
Photobucket

Here's a picture of my cute niece, Yun En. She's more well trained for photo taking.. Her eye bag is thicker than mine. Gosh! She needs to sleep early man!
Photobucket

I went to their house for a family dinner on Wednesday night. We shifted from the dining table to the balcony and back to the dining table because of the rain. I like the high dining table with the high red chair.. But it's really too small for all of us. SO I ended up eating in front of the TV.

After dinner, I met up with Terry, Jeremy and Alex to chill out at Villa Bali! It was a nice and surprisingly big place! We had some finger food and some really nice cocktail. Time flies as we head back home at 2am. Thanks to Alex for giving me a lift home!

Earlier in the day, I met up with Kaixin at Concourse to get some things and saw a very nice pair of deer!
Photobucket

There's really lots of Christmas stuff at the Concourse! If only I had the money and my own house. I'll deco up my house with the deer, Christmas tree and lights! Woohoo!

Praise the Lord!!! I just got my results! I achieved my goals of getting at least B's for all my modules!!! Here's my results:

Innovations in Designs & Practices for Primary Science: A-
Topics in Biological Science for Primary Science Teaching: A-
Further Topics for Primary Science Teaching: B+
Further Mathematics Topics: A
Applied Physiology of Exercise: B+
Applied Psychology of Physical Education and Sport: B

From 3rd Class, I've moved up to 2nd Lower Class. Can I reach my 2nd Upper Honours? It's mission impossible for me.. Cos I need to get all A's for my last sem. Well, I can only blame myself for not working hard enough for the past few sems.

Nevertheless, I'm still over the moon now. It's really important for me to focus. I'm not a person who can multi-task. Keep it up, Hui!

It's the season to be jolly.. Lalalalala.. lalalala...

Presenting to you, my favorite chocolate!! Almond Roca!

My future sis-in-law bought a box for my bro.. and I'm "helping" him to finish it! Hahaha.. It's sooooo nice! Makes me hunger for more. I think I'll get fatter before the end of the year..
I tagged and said I was contemplating to delete this blog or shift the blog to wordpress or something. I'm tired of searching for a nice blogskin that I like and is easy for people to read. Moreover, I don't love yellow anymore. I think I love pink more now. I like this current blogskin. It's simple, pink and nice!

I updated the skin last night and read through some of my past entries. Noticed the big change in me. Sad to say, it's not a change for the better. Especially this year, 2007, I've been negative, emotional, cold, down etc. Basically, I hate myself for who I am now.

Finally this trying year is gonna end. I believe 2008 will be a better year. I'm gonna let go of my past and work towards my future. It's easier said than done, but I will be able to, one day. I wanna change to become a better me.
It's been more than a week since I last blog. Seemed to have nothing to blog about. I've been spending my days watching dramas and movies online. Within 1 week, I've finished:

1) Hua Yang Shao Nian Shao Nu
2) Huan Huan Ai
3) The Notebook
4) A Cinderella Story
5) Enchanted
6) Coffee Prince (Not completed yet)

Anything else that I can watch? Next on my list after Coffee Prince are:

1) With Yoo Hee
2) Zhong Ji Yi Jia
3) Bee Movie
4) Alvin and the Chipmunks
5) The Golden Compass (Watched the 1st 30min and I was bored, wonder if I should continue)

I saw a very sleek wallet at Far East the other day, wanted to buy, but didn't because it's $23. In the end, I bought this at $8 at Bugis Street. Very cool wallet though it's kinda thick and I can only put 2 cards in it.. Can do tricks with it. Most people are amused by it.

Family Dinner

I went to Yuki and Yaki at Marina Square to have dinner with my mum, bro, future sis-in-law, auntie, cousin and cousin's gf. My first time eating steamboat buffet there. Usually I eat Jap food. Anyway, I had fun frying my own ice cream. It'll be more fun if I go with friends. The ice cream tasted artificial though. So, I won't eat there again unless my friends wanna have a go at it. It's my cousin's treat! So thank God for the meal. I didn't eat dinner yesterday. Only had a plate of rice at 3plus and half a packet of fries at 9plus. So I'm surprised that I had the appetite to eat so much meat.. not as much as in the past though..

Here's a demo by one of the staff there..
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

And the end product! Notice the smiley face at the side?
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

And this is done by me.. not as neat as the professional. But they all taste the same. Haha.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

That's all for photos! I've been sleeping at 5 or 6am the last 2 days. Now, I can't get to sleep again. OMG!

Photo time!

It's time for pictures! Finally uploaded all the pics in my hp..

First up: These were taken last night. Mummy Lynn's Gwen had a Retro Night performance. I'm honoured to be there to grace the performance. The little kids were so adorable! I had a wonderful night watching them perform. And Gwen is really very swift in her actions, I couldn't get her to take a pic with me with her looking at the camera..

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Managed to catch her looking at the camera only when she's eating.. Look at her pretty face!!! Mummy Lynn, pls dress her up more often!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Secondly, I went to TIMBRE with Xuan, Peiyi and Ceqin on the 1st of Dec. Their pizza is thin and delicious!! I've been recommending the place to my friends. It's a nice chill out place. There'll be live band from 9.30pm onwards. Happy Hour from 7-9pm. My friend is singing there every Sat! TIMBRE is next to the Asian Civilisation Museum near Raffles Place MRT.

Thirdly, still on the 1st of Dec, I attended Sin Chieh's wedding at Chjimes! Check out the nice interior of the church.

Here's Yeejia and I.. at my house!! Haha.. We forgot to take a pic together at Chjimes.

Pictures with the bride and other group of friends are all in other people's camera.. Got to wait for them to send to me..

And now for the beautiful door gift from Chjimes...

Next up, on the 30th of Nov, I went to a club with some friends.. and the crispy noodle was SOOOOOO BIG that I couldn't finish eating. It's expensive and not nice. Normally the noodles is round but here we had a square one.

Following, I just wanna post up a nice pic of my dog BB!! Not easy to catch her looking at the camera too. Shi will like this. =D

Last but not least, this was spotted at Airport's Popeye's, where the nicest bun and mashed potato is found!

Is it a spoon or a fock? It's a spock/foon!!! (I'm just being lame.. haha)

I watched the Channel 8, 9pm show last night. Can't help but feel for "Hai Ming Ge" (acted by Edmund Chen). He gave so much for the one he loves and yet what he got back was rejection after rejection at this point. There's no right or wrong in love, I guess. But, he's a good man in the show. I hope I'll meet such a good man in real life.

Wednesday, December 05, 2007

I used to think that the following song is a romantic love song.. Apparently it wasn't. I was listening to it intently a few days ago when I realised it's quite a sad song.. Probably a song to find back a lost love. Look at the lyrics carefully..

曲名:只对你说 歌手:林俊杰

站在寂寞的舞台上
灯光下拖着自己的影子
音乐重复我们共同的忧伤

不是每一次的演唱
就可以淡忘明天没有你
In my heart we'll never be apart

残留手上的香味提醒我
在数位相机里留下的承诺
每一封简讯传出的思念
都对你说

Sarang Haeyo, means I love you
代表着我离不开你
每分每秒每一个声音
只有你撒娇会让我微笑

Sarang Haeyo 只对你说
I will love you and forevermore
我答应 baby you will see
每一个我都属于你

Oh baby I will love you because
我都属于你
Have you ever felt attracted to someone for no good reasons? The person doesn't have to be very handsome or pretty, but you just want to be around that person.

My friend's niece is 2 yrs old now. She just saw me for the 1st time yesterday. Guess what? She's soooo cute! I just held out my index finger and she'll automatically run over to hold on to my finger. And my friend's gal shouted, "Jiahui Jie Jie!" Haha.. I'm the only honoured one to be called Jie Jie still.. The rest all upgraded to AUNTIE.

I really feel happy and honoured to be a "kids' magnet".. but I guess this is the wrong crowd that I'm attracting. Hmmmm...

It's been a tiring week. I've not been having enough sleep because of the weddings and gatherings with friends. I need sleep badly. It's my hols! It shouldn't be this way!!

Anyway, I'm really thankful that I'd finished chiong-ing for all the weddings in 2007! The really last one will be my bro's ROM on the 26th of Dec.

And I totally regretted signing up to work for ACCA at Expo. I'm invigilating yesterday, today, tomorrow, next Mon and Tues. It's SO TIRING! I almost died yesterday. The hall is SO BIG and we have to walk up and down MANY times. There's no place for us to lean or rest. Our Chief is so irritating lar! He is such a NAG.. Other group has 45 min break, we only have 35min. Plus, he told us to shade the "present" and "absent" thingy before we leave for our break.. The other group has assigned 4 people just to do the shading. And guess what??!! After I finished shading, I only had 10min of the break left. After walking to Coffeebean and waited for my drink, my times' up. I'm so fed up man! My friend told me to jus relax and drink. So we shared a cheesecake and I drank a pure vanilla drink. Today, I'm just gonna go for my break, come back then shade. This guy that I'm working with is sooooo blur! Go for break he's so alert, other times, forget this and that.. Sigh. I hope we change team today.

When I'm tired, I tend to be more emotional and think a lot. AGAIN, I feel a little unbalance. Why do I have to work so hard during the hols while others are enjoying themselves out there? Hols is meant to be enjoyed, but I've been working my heart out. I can only blame myself for not saving up during the days when I'm salaried. I WILL NOT repeat the same mistake again. I'm thinking of taking the easy way out by borrowing a lump sum of money to tide me through the next 6 months..

Oh God! SAVE ME!!!

Seriously speaking, there really isn't much benefits compared to other credit cards from other banks. However, there's really no harm in you signing up for it, for the sake of goodwill. So if you are willing to help, pls give me a call or tag my blog, I'll get back to you. Thanks!

At the end of promotion, I was surprised at some "good friends'" response: 1) This card offers no benefits leh.. (after that disappear from msn almost immediately) 2) It's very TROUBLESOME to apply for a card.

Through it all, I realised, the closest person to me is still my own family. My brother filled up the form immediately when I told him I'll get $30. And he was so quick to photocopy his ic and payslip for me the next day. So, blood relation is still thicker than friends, no matter what! (It won't be affected just because he abused me verbally) I still love him, and I believe, he loves me too. =D And my dear Eunice, unreservedly agreed to help me almost immediately.. I'm touched. Seriously. By simple things in life. I'm very easy to please. Ha!
I'm tagged

Rules of the game: Each player of this game starts off with ten weird things or habits or little known facts about yourself. People who get tagged must write in a blog of their own ten weird things or habits or little known facts as well as state this rule clearly. At the end, you must choose six people to be tagged and list their names. No tagbacks.

1. I love to drink/try alcoholic drinks.. which is a shock to many people. I hate vodka.. Love tequila shots. My friend, Xuan, just called me the tequila gal.. hahaha!

2. I stole before when I was a primary school kid. I was quite a ngiao person.. so instead of paying for comics, I stole them. Forgive me Lord, I pray.

3. I only brush my teeth once a day.. which is in the morning. BUT, my teeth has never decayed before and they are still very white. Thank God!

4. I love to stay at home to sleep. (Probably not weird or new to most people.)

5. I'm stuck, there's nothing much weird about me..

6. I can sleep anywhere, anytime, anywhere...

7. Nowadays, I play dai dee before I sleep. I downloaded the game in my hp and realised that I enjoyed playing with it! I play with it on all my mrt journey, no matter to where.

8. I'm quite a negative person by nature..

9. Sometimes I feel that I'm too "guai" and feel like letting everything loose.. regretted NOT trying a lot of things like, getting into a relationship with someone that likes me, dance at the dance floor.. (it's just not me.. afterall..)

10. Finally, I've come to the end! I read some blogs MANY times A day just to check for updates.

*There's really nothing weird about me.. I'm VERY normal if u realised!

I tag:
1) Xeun
2) Ben
3) Jen
4) Xin
5) Deb

These are the few people that I know will read my blog and blog.. haha.. sorry friends!
Life is a journey of discovering true friends.

We all go through ups and downs.. Every friend will rejoice and celebrate with us when we are up. But how many will be there when we truly need help?

As I grow older and go through experiences in life, I've learnt to differentiate who are my mentors, acquaintances, seasonal friends, 猪朋狗友, true friends etc. It caused me to think a lot. Some friends are just so nice and willing to go the extra mile. While others just think about their own comfort. This caused me to reflect on myself. Have I been a true friend to others? It also taught me to be wise to invest my time on those who deserve my time and attention. And during this season where so many of my friends are getting married, I can only say, wedding is a time that shows how much you have sown into the lives of others.

And sometimes, it's just so sad to realise that some friends are not who we think they are. Well, I may not be who you think I am too. As the chinese saying goes: 路遥知马力,日久见人心.

Forgive me, if I've not been a true friend to you IF I'm supposed to. We reap what we sow. This applies to me too. It always takes 2 hands to clap. Unless you "clap" on your face or thighs or whichever part of your body.

And to all my friends out there, I'm sorry that I will not have the means to get Christmas gifts for everyone this year. I will be prosperous next year and it's coming soon!!!
Christmas is coming!!! Watch and be amazed by this WHITE CHRISTMAS!!!

21. Seriously, are you still just a kid at heart?
Nope.. I may look young, but I feel old... SOMETIMES.
I guess, it's really hard to get me to ignore and not to care about others. I'll tend to get concern again and in the end, get scoldings for being a kpo lor.

As promised, I moved the modem into my mum's room. So I resetted my wireless network. That caused my bro to lose his connection. Being helpful(kpo), I told him to bring his laptop over and helped to configure it a bit. In the end, he pressed something and ALL our connection's gone. Couldn't even connect with the cable on. And it ended up with a quarrel and I get scolded again lor.

Being verbally abused for 2 days is a YUCKY feeling! Hate it immensely! ARGH!

*STOP being concern, helpful and KPO!

Someone hurled vulgarities at me last night. I wasn't surprised at all. Hurt? Used to be.. but not as much now. Because besides profanities, this person has not said anything else to me for some time. Sad? Yes, means this person has deep bitterness and unforgiveness.

Picture time!

Here's the pictures from last Sun when we celebrated Kiat's belated birthday at Airport's Popeyes.. My 1st time eating there.. Cos it's ex! But I really like the bun and mashed potato!!!

I must say that I'm really disappointed and angry with the person who took this photo. SIGH! Why do I still put it up? Well, it's the only one with everyone inside!

Banz and Debz's wedding!

Attended Banz and Debz's wedding.. Thoroughly enjoyed myself because of the classmates that went. ALL the gals in our Diploma class went, except Mel who went Australia. We really had a great time of catching up. I can't wait to post up the pictures.. But they are in Xuan's camera.. Had to wait for her to send me the pics. I enjoy attending such weddings, because it's a time to meet up all my long lost friends. (I don't usually meet them up because of my busy schedule and commitments LAST TIME. I'll have more times for the gals from now on..)

Meanwhile, enjoy these pictures that I'd taken with my humble K750i Sony Ericsson HP.

This is the table setting (candle) from Ah Beng and Yee Lee's wedding..

I attended Debbie and Ban Hwee's Holy Matrimony yesterday. It's such a beautiful and romantic sight as it was held at Swissotel Merchant Court's poolside. The scenery with the wind was great! And the international buffet at their Ellenborough Market Cafe is 2 thumbs up! I lost my appetite and didn't eat well these few days because of the unknown stomach pain. BUT, I ate a lot at the buffet. The food was simply DELICIOUS!!!! I'm going for the wedding dinner tonight at the same hotel. I hope that the food will be solid good too!!

Anyway, I went shopping with Xuan after that and I was really touched by her gesture. I was searching for a dress. We saw one really nice one but it costs about $80. So I told her I won't buy it because it's too expensive. She insisted that I try it.. I refused because knowing her, she'll buy the dress for me if it suits.. Well, I was really touched, but I rejected it. We had a long talk from 3 plus to 7 plus, she told me of the loans that she had to pay back because of the 2 years of studying without pay.. I was amazed! She had a bigger debt to clear than me but she's so willing to pay for a $80 dress for me! I saw a very giving heart! I was reminded of the days where she always blessed me during our diploma days and I felt the Holy Spirit speaking to my heart. "If a non-believer can have such a giving and generous heart, how much more you (referring to me) a child of God?" I really feel that I've never been a good friend to many of my friends. I've taken much, and blessed little. They've always blessed me when I'm in need and financial difficulties. I'm determined to be a blesser as much as I can. I'm really looking forward to receiving my first pay again next April or May! Those who had blessed me, look forward to a treat from me next year ok! Those who didn't, God bless you. Ask and it shall be given to you! Haha.

Exam's finally over!!!

I was already rejoicing in my heart on Thursday night before my last paper on Friday. Had been sleeping at 4am for the past few days.. That caused me to lose my sleep. So I had a very long and friendly talk with God that night. I was so thankful for all the things that had happened and how God has been so faithful and gracious to me all these while. My stomach was in much pain since Thursday morning, and was thinking I might not make it for exam and CGM on Fri. However, I didn't want to repeat my module or postpone my exams and I was very excited and determined to go CGM to share of God's goodness. There's so many things that I wanted to share...

Today as I walked home from the mrt station, I can't help but feel thankful for all the things that had happened this whole year. Though I had a really tough and bad 2007 (the worst in all my 25 yrs), I'm thankful that at the beginning of the year till June, God revealed an area of weakness in my life which I had never realised. I didn't do well in my studies and had to give up my ministry as a result. I almost backslided.. (Yea, though I walked through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil). Pastor Zhuang's prayer of "God's stubborn love to not let me go", and Wen's "God is the Lifter of our head", kept me going on all these while.

June onwards was still very trying as I need to deal with a lot of issues in my life. I'm still recuperating, but I'm really thankful that this period gave me the focus to study and the strength to be independent. I believe I'll do MUCH better in my studies than I did last semester. Thank God for His grace!

I found my true friends.. Those who stood by me whether I'm a leader or not, those who love me for who I am, those who love me even after knowing my imperfections. I begin to treasure my friends more and spend more time with my mum at home. I'm really happy and thankful that I'm not a leader anymore. It had been great serving the Lord and His people, but I had gone off course, putting ministry above all. Ministry had taken time away from my studies, relationship with family, friends and God! The remembrance of long meetings and the phrase, "A leader makes things happen" freaks me out. I was unbalanced then. Now, relationships are more important than anything else. But to be balanced, I can't go without a ministry too. So I'm considering and praying about joining the CHC TV ministry! I want to try something new and something that I like... A side thought, I'm rather tired of dealing with people. Dealing with cameras should be easier.. cos they can't talk. Ha. I guess I'll get scolded by some people because of this statement. Anyway, I love God, my friends, mum and my brother more than before. I'm truly thankful to THEM!

Now you see it, now you don't!

Finally my BIG pyschology paper is over! I wouldn't say that I've done well. I'm just glad that it's over. I've done my best and left everything into God's hands to do the rest.. When people are discussing the questions, I chose to keep quiet and ignore cos it doesn't matter anymore!!! Yeah!

Now you see the notes on my cupboard!

The year is coming to an end..

Somehow, today I'm reminded of last Christmas.. Christmas is coming again. It means, the year is coming to an end. I spent some time looking over all the pictures that I'd taken with my ex-cg and realised I really miss the good old days.. The days that we played basketball, had games, hugged one another, our super long appreciation night and many many more. I miss them. It's good to see them all grown up. Though it's only less than half a year, it seemed like ages to me. It's good to hear that they've finally multiplied. It's good to hear that many of them had grown stronger and more mature. W220 is history! Congratulations!

I was looking at our W220 blog and heard my song. It's written for my beloved ones in W220. I remembered it was a tough 2006. I cried as I recorded this song. What a good time to put it here now! It was then that I realised Yingjie uploaded it to imeen long ago!! Thanks Yingjie! Sorry it took me so long to realise it.

I miss you all!

Purpose Driven Life

Here's some good read from Chapter 23: How We Grow. It's kinda long, but I like the one on the autopilot especially. I could type out the whole chapter!!!

"God wants you to grow up."

"Spiritual growth is not automatic. It takes an intentional commitment. You must want to grow, decide to grow, make an effort to grow, and persist in growing. Discipleship-the process of becoming like Christ-always begins with a decision."

"Nothing shapes your life more than the commitments you choose to make. Your commitments can develop you or they can destroy you, but either way, they will define you."

"Christlikeness is the result of making Christlike choices and depending on His Spirit to help you fulfill those choices."

The Bible says, "Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose." The "work out" is your responsibility, and the "work in" is God's role. This verse, written to believers, is not about how to be saved, but how to grow. It does not say "work for" your salvation, because you can't add anything to what Jesus already did. During a physical "workout", you exercise to develop your body, not to get a body. Farmers "work" the land, not to get the land, but to develop what they already have. God has given you a new life; now you are responsible to develop it "with fear and trembling".

"To change your life, you got to change the way you think. Behind everything you do is a thought. Every behaviour is motivated by a belief, and every action is prompted by an attitude. Imagine riding a speedboat on a lake with an automatic pilot set to go east. If you decide to reverse and head west, you have 2 possible ways to change the boat's direction. One way is the grab the steering wheel and physically force it to head in the opposite direction from where the autopilot is programmed to go. By sheer willpower you could overcome the autopilot, but you would feel constant resistance. Your arms would eventually tire because of the stress, you'd let go of the steering wheel, and the boat would instantly head back east, the way it was internally programmed.

This is what happens when you try to change your life with willpower. Willpower can produce short term change, but it creates constant internal stress because you haven't dealt with the root cause. The change doesn't feel natural, so eventually you give up and quickly revert to your old patterns.

There is a better and easier way: Change your autopilot-the way you think. The Bible says, "Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think." Change always starts in your mind. The way you think determines the way you feel, and the way you feel influences the way you act."

Stress is written all over my face!

Though I've been relaxing quite a bit at home these few days.. I must say that within me, there's greal deal of pressure. I'm feeling the pressure of exams and finances yet again! And they are being revealed on my face... Within a short span of a few days, my T-zone is filled with pimples!! And the used-to-be-gone pimples on my cheeks are back for their holidays too.. ARGH! Then, I realised, make up really do wonders.. BUT, it'll harm my skin further. Oh God! Miraculous healings on the inside and outside pls..

The peace that surpasses all understanding - Let it dwell in me.

Survey on Teaching??

I happen to find this on Facebook! I can't set the frames right. But it's ok.. cos there's nothing much to see.. Jus hear what the lecturer say.. I find it very funny! Check it out!

Purpose Driven Life

In Chapter 21: Protecting Your Church

This is what I like from the chapter.
  • Be realistic in your expectations.

"Longing for the ideal while criticizing the real is evidence of immaturity. On the other hand, settling for the real without striving for the ideal is complacency. Maturity is living with the tension. Other believers WILL disappoint you and let you down, but that's no excuse to stop fellowshiping with them. They are your family, even when they don't act like it, and you can't just walk out on them. Reconciliation, not running away, is the road to stronger character and deeper fellowship."

How true!

I'm so bored and tired of studying!!! It wasn't a fruitful day today... Something's been on my mind and I can't seem to focus at all. So here I am, releasing some steam. Look at my cupboard door below.

It's my first time having such colourful notes. Thank God for recycled COLOURED paper from church. I used to keep ALL my bulletins. Hahaha. And thank God for Bee Hong's coloured pens. She wanted to throw them away.. my goodness!!!

Here's a picture with Jean. Hmmm.. I think this is my first and only picture with her alone. Haha! Took it last Sun when we went blading (quite obvious right?)

Up till now, I have 6 wedding invitations and I'm going for 5 of them.. Oh God! I haven't been giving tuition for 2 weeks. I need to give at least 5 tuitions to earn enough for the ang baos. Not forgetting building fund! Grace grace during this exam period!
